Small shaving bowl with the approximate dimensions of 2.25" H x 4.5" W. Fired in an oxidation atmosphere for approximately eleven and a half hours and allowed to cool naturally for about fifteen hours.
This hand-thrown and textured shaving bowl is crafted with a rich dark chocolate brown clay body. The vessel features a dotted interior to help agitate the soap and develop rich lather. The bowl rests on a tall tapered unglazed pedestal that provides superior grip when working the soap with a brush. It is finished with a beautiful burnt olive brown glaze with deep blue speckles pushing through around the interior dots. The glazed bowl contrasts beautifully with the unglazed dark chocolate clay.
These stoneware pieces utilize food safe glazes and are dishwasher safe, though hand washing is recommended to best preserve their beauty and finish. While durable, they can chip if handled roughly—please treat them with care. I personally prefer hand washing my handmade pottery and do not use it in the microwave.
