This hand-thrown 9oz tapered mug is crafted with a rich dark chocolate brown clay body. The vessel features a gentle tapering curve with a subtle refined foot and is trimmed smooth. The belly is trimmed with a thick relief carved band of chattered exposed clay, creating wonderful textured contrast between the clay and glaze. It is finished with a glossy burnt olive glaze with deep blue speckles pushing through the burnt olive interior.
These stoneware pieces utilize food safe glazes and are dishwasher safe, though hand washing is recommended to best preserve their beauty and finish. While durable, they can chip if handled roughly—please treat them with care. I personally prefer hand washing my handmade pottery and do not use it in the microwave.
