Approximate dimensions are 3" H x 3.25" W with a 10oz volume. Fired in an oxidation atmosphere for approximately eleven and a half hours, then cooled slowly over about twenty hours.
This 10oz mug was first hand-thrown on the wheel, then the exterior was carved in a kurinuki-inspired approach. The carving reveals stone-like natural irregularities and organic textures, creating a raw, tactile surface that feels good in the hand. It is finished with a beautiful rustic white glaze that is applied at an angle with an accompanying pen stripe, creating clean, refined lines that beautifully contrast with the exposed unglazed clay.
These stoneware pieces utilize food safe glazes and are dishwasher safe, though hand washing is recommended to best preserve their beauty and finish. While durable, they can chip if handled roughly—please treat them with care. I personally prefer hand washing my handmade pottery and do not use it in the microwave.
